The Resort

Built small on purpose.

The plot allowed two hundred and forty rooms. We built seventy-four and put the rest into space between them.

Zavana sits on a limestone point north of Punta Nizuc, on land that had been cleared for a much larger hotel and then left. We kept the mangrove edge, set every building below the tree line, and oriented all seventy-four rooms east. The result is a resort you can walk across in four minutes that never feels busy.

What we believe

Fewer rooms, more staff
We run roughly two staff per key. That is what makes the service feel personal rather than scripted — there is simply time.
No wristbands
Nobody at Zavana wears a band or produces a card. If you are here, you are a guest, and every venue is open to you.
Local, properly
Eighty per cent of the team live in Quintana Roo. Our fish, produce, honey and mezcal come from within the peninsula.
The mangrove stays
Thirty per cent of the site is protected mangrove and dune. It is why the beach holds its sand and why the birds are still here.
Water
We run our own desalination and treatment plant, irrigate with greywater, and put nothing into the lagoon.
Honest pricing
One rate, no resort fee, no service charge at the end. We would rather quote a higher number honestly than a lower one that grows.
